BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Seasonal Saturday flights to two of American Airlines’ largest hubs, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), began this weekend from Orlando Melbourne International Airport (MLB).
Passengers and crew on both the inaugural DFW and returning PHL flights enjoyed a “Love is in the Air” celebration with themed sweets, gifts and a traditional water arch to commemorate the start of the seasonal service during Valentine’s Day weekend.
“Our team has stepped up to the challenge to prove to the airlines and our customers the benefit of flying in and out of MLB,” said Airport Executive Director Greg Donovan, A.A.E.
“Our calm, clean and uncongested airport provides a safe experience and it just got even better with more travel options on American Airlines.”
As stated in the initial announcement back in December, American Airlines introduced the new flights for families, couples and more looking to visit Central Florida’s beaches.
Dallas-Fort Worth provides a West Coast connection and PHL provides a northeastern connection between countless markets and Florida’s Space Coast during the peak spring break season. Passengers arriving to this new coastal option will land minutes from the beach and closest to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.
The schedules for the new Saturday flights are:
Route Arrival Departure
PHL 11:45 a.m. 12:15 p.m.
DFW 4:21 p.m. 5:00 p.m.
American is also operating several flights every day between MLB and Charlotte (CLT), another major hub for the airline.
Enhanced safety procedures and initiatives have been implemented along every step of the travel experience at MLB. To learn more, visit FlyMLBsafely.com.
