BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Brevard County Fire Rescue responded to a residential fire on Friday, and the firefighter’s quick action saved two homes on Merritt Island.

Brevard County Fire Rescue Engine 41 responded to the call about 11:30 a.m. on River Island Street in north Merritt Island.

The E41 crew saved two homes in close proximity but lost a recreational vehicle and detached garage.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and no injuries were reported.
