Three-Vehicle Crash on SR-46 Kills 19-Year-Old Woman from Cocoa, Two People Injured

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving three vehicles on SR-46 Monday night that claimed the life of 19-year-old woman from Cocoa and injured two people.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving three vehicles on SR-46 in Volusia County Monday night that claimed the life of 19-year-old woman from Cocoa and injured two people.

One of the people injured was a passenger inside the vehicle that killed the 19-year-old Cocoa woman. The passenger is identified as a 19-year-old woman from Allisonia, Florida. She was critically injured in the crash.

Another person injured in the crash was the driver who initially lost control of his car. The driver of the vehicle is identified as a 28-year-old man from Sebastian. He suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash

The investigation has revealed that the 28-year-old man from Sebastian was traveling eastbound in a van on SR-46 around 6 p.m., When he approached the intersection of Morgan Alderman, he lost control of the vehicle and traveled into the oncoming westbound lanes on SR-46

He then collided head-on with the 19-year-old woman from Cocoa who was driving with a passenger in a sedan vehicle.

A third vehicle that was traveling behind sedan was also damaged The driver, a 52 year-old from Geneva, was not injured in the wreck.

The Cocoa woman killed in the crash was not wearing her seatbelt, according to state troopers
