Titusville Man Arrested for Armed Home Invasion After Bounding Elderly Neighbor’s Ankles and Hands with Duct Tape

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Titusville police arrested a 38-year-old Titusville man for the armed home invasion of his elderly neighbor that occurred on Sunday at approximately 9:15 a.m.
According to the Titusville Police Department, 38-year-old Timothy James Hill of Titusville was arrested and charged with Armed Home Invasion Robbery, Battery on Elderly Person, Grand Theft Auto and False Imprisonment.
The preliminary investigation has revealed the suspect knocked on the victim’s front door and after a brief conversation in the doorway, the suspect forced his way into the residence.
According to police, Hill demanded money, and when the victim did not comply, he bound the victim’s hands and ankles with duct tape and then stole money, two cell phones and prescription medication.
The suspect fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.
A few minutes after the suspect left the scene, the victim managed to loosen the duct tape around his hands, crawl to a phone and call police for help.
The victim, who positively identified the suspect as his neighbor, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
An arrest warrant was issued for the suspect, who was located by detectives and taken into custody without incident on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 near the intersection of Harrison Street and Barna Avenue.
Hill was transported to the Brevard County Jail and is being held without bond.
