Amanda Paige Davis and Charner Leon Williams IV of Titusville Arrested

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville police have arrested the mother of a local toddler and her live-in boyfriend in connection with the child’s apparent drowning death that occurred Saturday.

Amanda Paige Davis, 30 of Titusville, and Charner Leon Williams IV, 30 of Titusville, were arrested and both charged with Aggravated Manslaughter of a Child.

“The preliminary investigation has revealed that Athena Blevins, 23 months old, was found by the couple’s roommate, unresponsive in the pool at their residence located at 745 Knox McRae Drive at approximately 1:30 p.m.,” said Titusville police spokesperson Amy Matthews.

“CPR was performed by the roommate and Titusville Fire Department paramedics.”

Matthews said that the parents did not wake up until paramedics arrived on scene.

The toddler was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

“Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence, which led to the discovery of a myriad of paraphernalia consistent with illegal drug use, which was also easily accessible to the toddler,” said Matthews.

“In addition, it was found that no steps were put in place to prevent the toddler from having access to additional hazards, such as the swimming pool, and the roadway.”

Davis and Williams were taken into custody without incident, transported to the Brevard County Jail and are currently being held without bond.

This remains an ongoing investigation.
