ORLANDO, FLORIDA – United States District Judge Carlos E. Mendoza has sentenced 22-year-old Jerimiah Swanson of Cocoa to six years and eight months in federal prison for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 40 grams of fentanyl.

Swanson was found guilty by a federal jury on December 10, 2020. He had been indicted on March 18, 2020.

According to testimony and evidence presented at trial, starting no later than November 2019, and continuing through February 2020, a confidential informant working for the Drug Enforcement Administration made six recorded purchases totaling over 150 grams of fentanyl outside Swanson’s home in Cocoa, Florida.

Law enforcement also conducted a search of Swanson’s home in February 2020 and found baggies, digital scales covered with fentanyl and cocaine, and firearms in Swanson’s bedroom.

Swanson’s co-defendant previously pleaded guilty to his role in the conspiracy. He was sentenced to eight years in federal prison on December 16, 2020.

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Florida Highway Patrol and the Titusville Police Department.

It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Shawn P. Napier and E. Jackson Boggs Jr.
