Eastern Florida State College Basketball Players Sosa, Torres Named Athletes of the Week

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball player Harry Sosa and women’s basketball player Stephanie Torres were named Athletes of the Week for the week ending March 6.

Sosa, a freshman from Puerto Rico, scored a career-high 18 points in his second start of the season. The wing scored the first seven points of the game and all 18 of his points in the first half of a win against Polk State College.

Torres, a sophomore from Orlando, helped the women’s basketball team to a pair of conference wins averaging 18 points, four rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game this week.

It is the third time the guard has been named the Orlando Health Athlete of the Week.

Torres has started all 10 games this season for the Titans and is averaging 17.2 points per game.

The men’s basketball team, who is 10-2 overall and 8-0 in the Central Conference, will travel to Hillsborough Community College on Monday night and then to Florida State College at Jacksonville Wednesday night.

The women’s basketball team has a big week ahead, traveling to Hillsborough Community College on Monday and then at Florida State College at Jacksonville on Wednesday night.

EFSC will host St. Petersburg College Thursday night at 5:30 p.m. at Titan Field House.
