Eastern Florida State’s Anaeli Perea, Nick Alves Named Student-Athletes of the Week

Alves is averaging 12 points per game this season

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College women’s volleyball player Anaeli Perea and men’s basketball player Nick Alves are the Orlando Health Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending March 28.

Perea helped the Titans to a win in the FCSAA State Tournament, finishing with a career-high 35 digs which is second-most in Titan history. The sophomore libero was named to the all-tournament team, averaging 23 digs per match in the tournament.

Alves had a big week for the men’s basketball team, helping them to a 3-0 week and clinched the Central Conference regular-season title.

The sophomore guard averaged 19 points and six rebounds per game including a 26-point effort against Hillsborough Community College. Alves is averaging 12 points per game this season.

The volleyball team’s season ended on Saturday in the state tournament while the men’s basketball team will be home for the final three games of the regular season this week, beginning Monday night against the Florida State College at Jacksonville.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and the first 75 fans are welcome into Titan Field House. Masks must be worn at all times and social distance when possible.
