BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Raul Quintero was named National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association South Hitter of the Week for his impressive opening week for Florida Tech.

Quintero earned the award following his impressive 7-for-8 performance against Lynn.

The Weston, Florida, product slashed .875/.917/1.375 while recording 11 total bases in 12 plate appearances. Quintero scored six times, drove in four runners, drew four walks, and stole three bases in three attempts as the Panthers took two of three from the Fighting Knights.

Quintero’s top game of the series came in the first game of the series, where he went 4-4 with two RBI, two stolen bases, a home run, and a walk. Defensively, the senior made five assists and one putout in six changes across the three games.
