BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech women’s rowing found itself in a familiar position as one of the team’s boats was named Sunshine State Conference Boat of the Week.

This time it was the Panthers DII Varsity 4+ boat and this is the shells first distinction this season.

The boat of Sophia Ferrizzi (bow), Lotti Lutter, Maggie Eure, Rebecca Miller (stroke) and Nashaita Patrawalla (coxswain) blitzed the competition in their first race of the season as they managed a victory margin of almost a minute.

The women crossed the 2000-meter finish line in 8:18.9, while Barry finished in second with a recorded a time of 9:11.2.

The V4+ and the rest of the women’s rowing team gets almost two-weeks off before they head to Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida for the FIRA Championship.

The next race for the Crimson & Gray takes place on Saturday, April 3.
