BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Former Astronaut High School star student-athlete Favian Upshaw was destined to take his game to the next level.

He was an outstanding three-sport high school athlete specializing in football, and in February of his senior year, signed a letter-of-intent to continue his education and play football at Florida International University.

After one year in south Florida, he transferred to Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia, to finish out his football playing days.

After playing the game he loved so much, he made the decision to go into coaching, and spent time on the coaching staff at Tulane University, Benedict College and Savannah State.

Just last week, he signed to be the running backs coach at his alma mater, Georgia Southern University.

There is little doubt that Upshaw will climb the coaching ladder as he is a very talented young man that communicates well with players and has a passion to teach the game. That is a combination that is hard to beat.
