BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County Schools received books to help encourage students to read more often as part of ‘Read Across America’ coming up on March 1.

L3Harris is providing funding for 400 books across eight cities nationwide – including 37 to Sabal Elementary School – through nonprofit organization Young, Black & Lit.

The stories have a special emphasis on STEM and feature diverse characters. Examples include “Hidden Figures,” “Astro Girl,” and “Ada Twist, Scientist.”

In addition, L3Harris’ CEO and other employee volunteers will virtually read to second-grade students during the week.
