Palm Bay-Melbourne-Titusville Ranked No. 2 in Milken Institute’s Best-Performing Cities

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Milken Institute has ranked Palm Bay-Melbourne-Titusville area as the No. 2 ranked Best-Performing Cities in the United States, according to their latest report.

The ranking uses an index tracks the economic performance of approximately 400 US metropolitan statistical areas (MSA).

It uses an outcomes-based set of metrics—including job creation, wage gains, and high-tech GDP growth—to evaluate the performance of these cities relative to one another.

Brevard County only trailed Provo-Orem, Utah, who took the No. 1 spot.

Among the cities Brevard County ranked ahead of included:

– Austin-Round, Texas
– Salt Lake City, Utah
– Raleigh, North Carolina
– Boise, Idaho
– Phoenix-Mesa-Chandler, Arizona
– Nashville-Davidson-Murfreesboro, Tennessee

For 2021, additional criteria were used to determine the rankings, including broadband access and housing affordability.

The new metrics reflect the upheaval of 2020, and the shifting markers of a city’s success in a year defined by stay-at-home orders and social distancing.
