BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College softball team rallied back to upset No. 3 College of Central Florida behind Roneice Pharoah’s grand slam Tuesday afternoon on the road.

The Titans picked up the 5-4 win in Ocala and the second game was cancelled.

Down 4-0 the Titans got things started when Meritxell Blesa hit a single that scored Kayla Domon with two outs. A walk to Molly Reid loaded the bases for the Titans. Roneice Pharoah came up as the pinch hitter and hit a 1-2 pitch over the centerfield wall for her third home run of the season.

With a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the seventh, the College of Central Florida tried to rally as Gabbie Haas doubled with one out, then Kamaya Cohen walked to put two on.

But starting pitcher Trinity Howard got the next two hitters to ground out to second baseman Blesa to end the threat and give the Titans their 17th win.

It is the second time the Titans have beaten the Patriots this season and have five wins over nationally-ranked teams this season.

Eastern Florida State College will host Miami Dade Saturday for a Southern Conference doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
