100-Acre Prescribed Burn Set to Happen Thursday Within Jordan Scrub Sanctuary in Malabar

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A 100-acre prescribed fire within the Jordan Scrub Sanctuary, located at 2425 Marie Street, is planned from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Thursday by Brevard County Environmentally Endangered Lands Program with assistance from the Florida Forest Service, Brevard County Fire Rescue & Malabar Fire Rescue.
Prescribed or controlled burning is a technique used in forest management, farming, or prairie restoration.
