Officials in Brevard County are warning residents that there is a 400-acre prescribed burn happening near Cape Canaveral Air Force Base and Kennedy Space Center on Thursday.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Officials in Brevard County are warning residents that there is a 400-acre prescribed burn happening near Cape Canaveral Air Force Base and Kennedy Space Center on Thursday.

Prescribed or controlled burning is a technique used in forest management, farming, or prairie restoration.
