BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Gov. Ron DeSantis and Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody have announced that the state of Florida has filed lawsuit against the federal government and the CDC for the cruise industry shutdown.

The announcement was made during Gov. Ron DeSantis’ press conference in PortMiami on Thursday.

This week, Disney Cruise Lines and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines announced that they are extending the suspension of all cruises through June 30, 2021.

“We are carefully reviewing the recently released guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and working toward resuming operations,” said Disney Cruise Lines in a released statement.

“As we continue to refine our protocols for our eventual return to service, we are canceling all Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, and Disney Wonder sailings departing through June 2021.”

On Thursday, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines also announced they would be extending the suspension on all cruises through June 2021.

“In order to allow additional time for our return to service preparations, we have decided to extend the suspension of sailings for our global fleet through June 30th, 2021,” said Royal Caribbean in a released statement.
