BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech women’s rowing grabbed its second Sunshine State Conference Boat of the Week honor of the season, announced Monday, April 12.

This time it was the Panthers’ Varsity 8 boat as this was the shell’s first boat of the week in 2021.

Tech’s V8 of Graysen Pensch (bow), Simona Vileniskyte, Sydney Spicer, Hannah Schilcher, Maclain Zajicek, Liza Lutter, Ismini Noni, Anna Kayser Gallego (stroke), and Abbigale Smith (coxswain) raced twice over the weekend and recorded a third-place finish behind DI foes, Stetson and Drake.

The women got their revenge on Drake in the second race of the day as they won the race in 6:54.59, which was 5.81 seconds faster than the Bulldogs and over 16 seconds faster than SSC foe, Embry-Riddle.

The V8 and the rest of the Crimson & Gray’s next competition are the SSC Championship at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida. The team will look to defend its three-straight SSC championship on Friday, April 23.
