Melbourne Police, Brevard Sheriff’s Office Take Down Suspect in Drug Bust Operation

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team executed two simultaneous search warrants last Thursday for ongoing sales of illegal drugs from both residences in Melbourne, located on the 300 block of Darrow Avenue and the 500 block of Roberts Street.

The search warrants resulted in the arrest of 45-year-old Dedric Sharome Witherspoon from Melbourne.

During the operation, police confiscated 391.5 grams of cocaine, 92.9 grams of meth, 243.5 grams of heroin, 85.8 grams of marijuana and 22.5 grams of Xanax, along with $20, 878 in cash

Witherspoon was booked into the Brevard County Jail for Possession of Cocaine.

More arrests could be forthcoming, according to police.
