Unchained Kings Motorcycle Club Raises $12,000 for Florida Tech’s Scott Center for Autism Treatment

FLORIDA TECH: We are so grateful to the Unchained Kings for helping us educate the community about autism

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Unchained Kings motorcycle club in Brevard County raised $12,000 for Florida Tech’s Scott Center for Autism Treatment.

Aware that the center’s largest annual fundraiser, Evening of Hope, was canceled this spring due to the COVID pandemic, Unchained Kings member Tyler Greene held an outdoor festival on May 2 at Space Coast Harley-Davidson in Palm Bay.

The event featured live music and entertainment and drew the public and other motorcycle clubs from across the state and beyond. Vendors sold food and attendees purchased shirts and other gear, with all proceeds supporting the Center.

The main fundraising was done through a raffle with the top prize being a home air conditioner provided by JMR Max LLC.

“We have always worked to help kids in the community, and knowing how the Scott Center is helping children with autism to be independent adults is very meaningful to us,” Greene said.

Scott Center personnel distributed awareness material and answered questions at the festival, which also featured Florida Tech’s Formula SAE club and its student-built Formula car.

By the end of the day, the total raised exceeded $12,000.

“We are so grateful to the Unchained Kings, not only for their support but for helping us educate the community about autism,” said Scott Center Director Kim Sloman.

The Unchained Kings said the festival was the first of what they hope to make an annual event, and members will continue to raise support both for direct assistance for families this year and for an endowment to sustain the Scott Center into the future.
