TAMPA BAY, FLORIDA – The defending Stanley Cup champions Tampa Bay Lightning advanced to the Stanley Cup Final on Friday after defeating the New York Islanders 1-0 in Game 7 at Amalie Arena.
Yanni Gourde scored the game-winning goal in the second period.
Ryan McDonagh recorded 2 hits and had 5 blocks on the night.
Goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy was masterful with 18 saves and recorded his fourth consecutive series-clinching shutout, an NHL record.
The Lightning will host the Montreal Canadiens on Monday night at Amalie Arena in game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. Puck drops at 8 p.m.
