Eastern Florida State’s Golfer Matt Gauntlett named to NJCAA Divion I All-Freshman Team

Gauntlett is the 13th first-team All-American from Eastern Florida State College

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College men’s golfer Matt Gauntlett was named to the NJCAA Division I All-Freshman team.

The freshman from Watford, England is the 13th first-team All-American from Eastern Florida State College and was also named to the District IV all-district team.

Gauntlett, who was also named to the all-district team, had a solid national tournament, finishing tied for 52nd overall after shooting 1-under 71 in the final round. Gauntlett had three rounds under 70 this season including a 65 during his win at the District 4 Championship.

Hutchinson College’s Ben Partridge was named Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award presented by StrackaLine.

Harry Crockett of Hutchinson, Western Texas’ Russel Dettmering, Eastern Florida’s Matt Gauntlet, Sam McKenzie of Midland, and Brendan Thomas of Eastern Wyoming were also named to the all-freshman team.
