BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech has been recognized as a top school for military veterans in 2021 Best for Vets: Colleges ranking from Military Times magazine.

The university offers a thriving ROTC program on its main campus and has a variety of degree programs fully online and at its Alabama, Florida, Maryland, and Virginia education centers, which have long been a top choice for service members.

Florida Tech counts 46 military generals among its alumni, including Ann Dunwoody, the first woman in U.S history to achieve a four-star officer rank.

In the annual Military Times report, more than 360 schools were ranked by filling out a 70-question survey about costs, programs, policies, and services that impact military-connected students.

Federal data from the U.S. departments of education, veterans affairs and defense, were also considered.

The ranking has Florida Tech at No. 46 among private, not-for-profit schools nationally, and No. 11 in the southeast region.

“For 10 years, Military Times Best for Vets: Colleges has been a top resource for veterans to help with their education decisions,” the magazine noted.

“This year’s rankings… will help veterans make important decisions about their career planning and how to use the education benefits they earned through military service.”
