Man Arrested in Longwood After Body Found in Banana River in Merritt Island, Victim Identified

The man arrested is identified as 40-year-old Leekhan Bryan, who is facing charges of aggravated battery, kidnapping, armed burglary, and grand theft.

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Longwood police announced on Friday an arrest in connection with the death of 62-year-old Trevor Morrison who was found dead on Tuesday in the Banana River in Merritt Island.

The man arrested is identified as 40-year-old Leekhan Bryan, who is facing charges of aggravated battery, kidnapping, armed burglary, and grand theft.

Investigators said the man found dead Morrison’s vehicle was located in Osceola County after he had been reported missing. As officials looked into the matter, they said they discovered the vehicle was being driven by Bryan.

Bryan was taken into custody by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. He is awaiting extradition to Seminole County.

Investigators say Bryan was an acquaintance of Morrison’s.
