Man Found Dead Tuesday in Banana River Identified, Ruled a Homicide by Brevard Medical Examiner

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man who was found deceased Tuesday evening in the Banana River, east of Morningside Drive in Merritt Island.

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man who was found deceased Tuesday evening in the Banana River, east of Morningside Drive in Merritt Island.

The man has been identified as 62-year-old, Trevor Morrison of Longwood, Florida.

The investigation began when deputies responded to the area after a boater found the body of a male floating in the river.

The male’s body was recovered and taken to the Brevard County Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy was conducted.

The Medical Examiner concluded that the decedent’s death was a homicide.

The investigation has revealed that the decedent was killed in Longwood, Florida and transported to Brevard County in an attempt to conceal the crime.

The homicide investigation is being handled by the Longwood Police Department.
