COVID-related infections continue to climb dramatically in Brevard County

Brevard County Emergency Management has been closely monitoring updates related to coronavirus. The health and safety of our residents are of utmost concern.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County Emergency Management has been closely monitoring updates related to coronavirus. The health and safety of our residents are of utmost concern.

The Brevard County Emergency Management wants to ensure that residents have the latest information regarding the virus and its current impacts.

COVID-related infections continue to climb dramatically in Brevard County. The last reported numbers from the Florida Department of Health indicate 2,166 cases in Brevard County for the week of 7/16-7/22, for a 20.3 percent positivity rate.

Area hospitals are seeing a rapid increase in the number of patients with COVID symptoms, with the majority unvaccinated and in the age range of 20 to 40 years old. Florida Health Department-Brevard recommends anyone ages 12 and older get vaccinated.

It is important to remember that risk of getting the disease is directly related to exposure to the virus. It is recommended that residents closely adhere to CDC recommendations of social distancing, frequent hand washing, wearing facial coverings, and staying home if you are sick.

Vaccines are available at most pharmacies, urgent cares, and through your personal physician.

Moderna and Janssen (Johnson and Johnson) COVID-19 vaccinations will also be available at the below locations based on availability. No appointments are required.
