According to the Margate City Police Department, 26-year-old Alexander A. Denafo has been charged with one count of simple assault after a game of football on the beach escalated into a physical altercation.

On Sunday, July 4 at approximately 6:30 p.m. the Margate City Fire Department’s ambulance responded to the beach block of Essex Avenue for what was, at the time, a report of a male who had fallen and suffered a “split lip”, according to the Margate City Police Department.
