Alert Residents in Cocoa Beach Help Police Catch Home Burglary Suspect

Cocoa Beach Police have arrested 39-year-old Charles Edmonson from Merritt Island, after he was charged with allegedly burglarizing a vacant home on Boca Ciega Rd. Monday morning (Aug. 23).

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Cocoa Beach Police have arrested 39-year-old Charles Edmonson from Merritt Island, after he was charged with allegedly burglarizing a vacant home on Boca Ciega Rd. Monday morning (Aug. 23).

Residents across the canal from the vacant home observed Edmonson force entry into the rear of the garage and subsequently notified Cocoa Beach Police.

The residents maintained visual observation as Edmonson exited the home until officers arrived on-scene and detained him to further investigate.

Edmonson was taken into custody, charged with Burglary, and transported to the county jail.
