Offers speed with a 6-2, 225-pound frame that can withstand some of the punishment that comes in the return game
(24/7 SPORTS) – Former Rockledge Raider and current Arkansas running back Raheim Sanders is a leading candidate to return kickoffs in 2021 for the Razorbacks.
“We started focusing on KOR really late last week, so we didn’t start early on doing that. I’ve got to really get that cut down,” said special teams coordinator Scott Fountain.
“We’ve got some good candidates, and man they worked hard at it this summer on their own catching balls and stuff. I’m really pleased because we’ve got some guys who really want to be back there, and that’s a big part of it.”
There’s an intriguing group working in reps at kick return currently for Arkansas. Defensive back LaDarrius Bishop, who has drawn praise for his speed during camp, worked at the spot in spring and had two returns for 51 yards in the Red-White Game.
Freshman running back Raheim Sanders spent time in the position in spring, as well, and offers speed with a 6-2, 225-pound frame that can withstand some of the punishment that comes in the return game.
