One Person Dead, Another Injured After Vehicle Strikes Tree in Titusville on US-1

A Titusville man was killed and another man was seriously injured in a single vehicle traffic crash at approximately 2 a.m. on Thursday, August 19, near the 1000 block of South Hopkins Avenue, according to Titusville Police.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – A Titusville man was killed and another man was seriously injured in a single vehicle traffic crash at approximately 2 a.m. on Thursday, August 19, near the 1000 block of South Hopkins Avenue, according to Titusville Police.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was driving a 2019 Chevrolet Cruze northbound on South Hopkins Avenue (US-1) and failed to follow the roadway as it required him to make an eastbound turn onto Brevard Street.

The vehicle incorrectly continued northbound into the southbound lanes of S. Hopkins Avenue where it struck a tree on the west side of the roadway.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The passenger was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.

This traffic crash remains under investigation by the Titusville Police Department and further details will be released upon its conclusion.
