Titusville police have identified Travis Jay Papczynski, 33, as victim in fatal crash

Titusville police have identified Travis Jay Papczynski, of Titusville, as the man that was killed in a single-vehicle traffic crash at approximately 2 a.m. on Thursday, August 19, near the 1000 block of South Hopkins Avenue.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville police have identified Travis Jay Papczynski, of Titusville, as the man that was killed in a single-vehicle traffic crash at approximately 2 a.m. on Thursday, August 19, near the 1000 block of South Hopkins Avenue.

According to the Titusville police, the preliminary investigation revealed that Papczynski, 33, of Titusville, driving a 2019 Chevrolet Cruze, was traveling northbound on South Hopkins Avenue and failed to follow the roadway as it required him to make an eastbound turn onto Brevard Street.

“The vehicle incorrectly continued northbound into the southbound lanes of S. Hopkins Avenue where it struck a tree on the west side of the roadway,” said TPD in a release.

Papczynski was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
