Greco returns after last years semifinal appearance in the national tournament

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s tennis team will open the fall season this weekend at the Embry-Riddle Aeronautic University Open at Crotty Tennis Complex in Daytona Beach.

The women’s tennis team will be back on the court after finishing sixth in the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament last season.

Kayla Greco is returning after making it to the semifinals of the national tournament in singles and doubles.

Greco will play in the singles Gold Flight division beginning at noon on Friday and then will team with Kanna Kobayakawa in the doubles Gold Flight division at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Kobayakawa will also play in the Blue Flight singles division in the tournament.

Teammate Simona Karlsson will play in the singles Gold Flight beginning at noon. Karlsson will team with Paige Noble Lucas in doubles.

Noble Lucas will also play in the singles Blue Flight division beginning Friday. Teammate Luisa Renovales will compete in the singles Blue Flight division as well as in doubles.

The ERAU Open will feature two singles rounds on Friday with one round on Saturday and the final round on Sunday. The doubles bracket will feature one round on Friday with two rounds on Saturday and a final round on Sunday.

Eastern Florida State College will compete against host Embry-Riddle, Flagler College, and individual players throughout the ERAU Open this weekend.
