MIAMI, FLORIDA (Miami Hurricanes) – The Miami Hurricanes rewrote the record books Saturday afternoon.

The Hurricanes totaled a program-record 734 yards of total offense, rolling past the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils, 69-0, in front of 44,019 fans at Hard Rock Stadium.

Ten different Hurricanes combined to score 10 touchdowns, while seven Miami players found the end zone for the first time in their collegiate career. The Canes (2-2, 0-0 ACC) totaled 417 passing yards and 322 rushing yards against Central Connecticut State (1-3, 1-0 NEC).

With veteran quarterback D’Eriq King sidelined, the Miami Hurricanes got a look at two promising stars under center. Tyler Van Dyke and Jake Garcia split time and impressed, leading a lethal Miami offense.

Van Dyke completed 10 of his 11 passing attempts for 270 yards and three touchdowns while Garcia finished 11-for-14 for 147 passing yards and two scores. Both quarterbacks orchestrated five scoring drives.

The Hurricanes opened the game with seven touchdowns on seven possessions for the first time since 2013 when Miami did so against Savannah State on Sept. 21.
