BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police Department’s retired K9 Officer Howard Knauf lost his battle with cancer on Sunday, September 19, 2021.

“Words can not convey the sadness Melbourne Police feels over the loss of their brother and friend,” said Melbourne police officials.

“Melbourne Police Department sends their prayers to Howie’s wife, children, and family. It is with a heavy heart that the Melbourne Police Department says goodbye to their brother and friend.”
