Satellite Beach Police Sergeant Eric Bell, Officer Timothy Wright Receive Meritorious Conduct Award

BREVARD COUNTY • SATELLITE BEACH, FLORIDA – Satellite Beach Police Sergeant Eric Bell and Officer Timothy Wright received the Meritorious Conduct Award during a recent Satellite Beach City Council meeting. 

Sgt. Bell and Ofc. Wright were recognized for their exemplary response to a traffic stop that involved a person with a mental health issue.

Ofc. Wright conducted the initial stop and Sgt. Bell responded as backup.

Both used their mental health awareness training and de-escalation techniques to bring a rapidly evolving situation to a safe conclusion.

“We could not be prouder of the quality public safety service Sgt. Bell and Ofc. Wright delivers every day to the citizens of Satellite Beach,” said Satellite Beach Police Chief Jeff Pearson.

“The future of policing depends upon the best officers within every law enforcement agency exemplifying the best values in policing, and Sgt. Bell and Ofc. Wright is an example of that future in our Department.”
