BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Space Coast Area Transit is hosting a Beach Trolley Celebration at Canova Beach Park on October 30 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon.

The event is open to the public; however, pre-registration is required at 321Transit.com/26Trolley. Attendees can hop aboard the trolley for a tour or ride and ring the trolley bell, masks are required.

Afterwards, free hot-dogs and t-shirts will be available, while supplies last.

Event sponsors include the Florida Department of Transportation, reThink Your Commute, the Space Coast TPO, Brevard County Parks & Recreation and Space Coast Area Transit.

The new beach trolley unveiling is part of the State of Florida’s Mobility Week, designed to promote transportation choices, options and safety. In addition, attendees are invited to enjoy “Trolley Talk” with Brevard County Commissioner Kristine Zonka and Space Coast Area Transit Director Terry Jordan, which will be available on Facebook Live @321Transit.

“Having a new Beach Trolley along Route 26, South Beach, is an exciting addition to the region. It inspires area residents and tourists to take Space Coast Area Transit to the beaches, local attractions, and work, helping to drive our local economy in the south part of the county,” said Brevard County Commissioner Kristine Zonka.

For 10 days, Nov. 1 to 10, trolley rides will be free on Space Coast Area Transit’s Route 26 South Beach. Bus riders can show the trolley driver the 321Transit app on a mobile device and ride for free all day long.

“Passengers will enjoy the new state-of-the-art beach trolley with a surfer-themed design in honor of Space Coast natives Kelly Slater and Caroline Marks,” said Jordan.

“Designed with wheelchair accessibility, bike racks, and room for surfboards, it also allows for transfers to and from the Cocoa Beach Trolley.”

Starting Nov. 1, the new beach trolley will be serving Space Coast Area Transit’s Route 26 with major stops including S. 13th Street, Patrick Space Force Base, South Beaches, and Canova Beach Park.

Service hours are 7:30 a.m. – 7:25 p.m. weekdays and 8:30 a.m. – 6:25 p.m. Saturday. Maps and schedules are available at 321Transit.com.

The cost to ride the trolley is $1.50.  Seniors, veterans, students, and youth under 18, ride at half-fare; children under five and transfers are free.

By downloading the 321Transit app, customers can view the Route 26 Beach Trolley on its route in real time. Additionally, contactless mobile ticketing, powered by Token Transit, allows riders to purchase a 1-Ride, 10-Ride, or 30-Day Bus/Trolley Pass directly and instantly to a smartphone.
