Brevard School Board Votes to Extend Mask Policy for Pre-Kindergarten-6th Grade Students Through Nov. 28

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The School Board took action Tuesday at its regularly scheduled meeting to extend the emergency face mask policy through November 28.

There are a few changes:

Students in grades 7-12 are still required to have parent opt-out until Friday, October 29. Beginning Saturday, October 30 masks will be strongly recommended for students in grades 7-12, but no opt-out will be required.

Students in grades Pre-K through grade 6 will be required to have a parent opt-out continuing through November 28.

Employees are required to wear masks until Friday, October 29. Beginning Saturday, October 30 masks will be optional but strongly recommended for employees, guests, volunteers, and vendors.

Under the emergency policy, this is the last time the board can extend the mask policy.
