BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa City Council proclaimed the week of October 18 through 22 as National School Bus Safety Week. A member of the Brevard Schools Bus System was on hand to talk about the importance of our Bus Drivers and the need to hire more drivers.

The City of Cocoa operates under the Council-Manager form of government. It is the governing body of the city, with all the regulatory and corporate powers of a municipal corporation provided under Florida state law.

The City Council serves as the Board of Directors for the City, with the Mayor as Chairman. The City Manager serves as the Chief Executive. The City Council for the City of Cocoa is made up of five members; the Mayor is elected at large and the four council members are elected by each of their districts.
