BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Brevard Zoo rescued Wallaby Way, a juvenile green turtle who was stranded in Fort Pierce on September 24. The turtle was severely emaciated, dehydrated, and with many fibropapillomatosis tumors.

This turtle was so sickly, the FP tumors were easily falling off.

Wallaby Way spent the first week at the Sea Turtle Healing Center in a kiddy pool because they were too weak.

This turtle has no interest in eating but eventually started to gain an appetite. Now, this turtle is eating like a ham. Although Wallaby Way is still quite thin, he looks nothing like it did upon intake.

Brevard Zoo officials said they did a fecal analysis on this turtle and discovered a parasite they are not quite sure about, so a sample was sent off to identify properly.
