BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Bulldogs left-handed pitcher Trey Wheeler officially committed to the University of South Carolina.

Wheeler is listed as a top 500 prospect in the country.

In 2021, the junior pitcher had an earned run average of 0.94 and a record of 0-3 as a starting pitcher.

Through 21 games played this past season, the Melbourne Bulldog had a batting average of .447 with 17 hits and 9 RBI’s.

Wheeler also plays for the Canes National Baseball Team and has a 4.25-grade point average.
