Melbourne Mayor Paul Alfrey Names First Week of October as National Customer Service Week

Melbourne’s Utility Billing and Collection employees provide service to 59,000 water customers

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Mayor Paul Alfrey visited the City of Melbourne’s Utility Billing and Collections Division, thanked the employees for their hard work, and dedication, and read a proclamation designating the first week of October as National Customer Service Week in the City of Melbourne.
Melbourne’s Utility Billing and Collection employees provide service to 59,000 water customers in the cities of Melbourne, Melbourne Beach, Indialantic, Indian Harbour Beach, Satellite Beach, Palm Shores, Melbourne Village and unincorporated Brevard County south of the Pineda Causeway.
Each month they answer more than 4,600 phone calls, assist approximately 4,500 customers at the front counter, and respond to over 400 e-mail inquiries.
“Efficient local governments are those that display a strong commitment to customer satisfaction,” said Mayor Alfrey.
“Recognizing National Customer Service Week allows the City of Melbourne to acknowledge the professionalism and outstanding work of these dedicated employees.”
