No. 18 Florida Tech Panthers Golf Team Finishes 10 at the Shark Invitational in Davie

Panthers ended tourney with a score of +33

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Tech golf finished 10th at the Shark Invitational this week.
The tournament took place at Grande Oaks Golf Club’s par-71, a 6,801-yard course where 12 other schools were competing.
The field included five teams ranked in the Bushnell/Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll, including No. 2 West Florida, No. 3 Lynn, No. 4 Barry, No. 18 Florida Southern, No. 19 Nova Southeastern, as well as Keiser, who is ranked No. 1 in the NAIA Coaches Poll.
Barry won the event finishing with a team score of -13 (839) followed by Lynn in second place at -7 (845). The Panthers ended the tournament with a score of +33 (885).
Yannick Koehnen paced the Crimson & Gray at T-31 after shooting +4 (75-74-68) over the three rounds. Derek Sanderson finished one shot back of Koehnen at T-33 with a score of +5 (69-76-73) and Alex Anderson ended T-53 in his debut for the Panthers at +12 (77-72-76).
Koehnen led the Panthers with nine birdies during the tournament followed by Sanderson with eight. Alex Anderson had the lone eagle for Florida Tech.
The Panthers will be back in action on Oct. 18-19 at the Copperhead Challenge at Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club in Palm Harbor, Florida.
