BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Hunter Andrew Haskins, 18 years young, loved by so many family and friends, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 29, 2021. Born and raised in Merritt Island, Florida, he leaves behind his parents Andy and Kelly, sisters Hannah and Haley, brother-in-law Brian, and niece and nephew Brian and Aubrey, along with a very large family across Florida, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

He also leaves behind his best friends he considered brothers for life.

He was surrounded by the best teachers and coaches who taught him much more than academics and sports. His time on earth was short but well-spent surfing, playing lacrosse and football, fishing, longboarding, flying his drone, being on the water in his kayak, playing with his dog and cat, and goofing around with family and friends.

He loved camping, the woods, and mountains, and teaching himself anything from YouTube-like how to play the piano, disassembling things to MacGyver something new, and he loved being “Uncle Hunter.”

He had just graduated from Merritt Island High and EFSC, and moved to UCF, studying to be an Engineer. Hunter loved all animals, so in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the SPCA of Brevard where he volunteered.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 9 at 3 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Merritt Island. A paddle-out will be held Sunday at 9 a.m., at Cherie Down Park in Cape Canaveral. All are invited.
