OBITUARY: Stella B. Powers, 97, of Titusville, Passed Away at Home Sept. 17

She was avid book reader, volunteered her time as a librarian at local senior center

Stella B. Powers, 97 of Titusville, formerly of Beaver Falls, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021, at her residence in Titusville. She and her younger sister, Celia, graduated from Beaver Falls High School.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Stella B. Powers, 97 of Titusville, formerly of Beaver Falls, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021, at her residence in Titusville. She and her younger sister, Celia, graduated from Beaver Falls High School.

Since Stella was a little girl, she had a passion for dancing. As she grew into adulthood and married William J. Powers, they took dance lessons and began to frequent various dance halls with their friends. On one occasion, they found a nice dance hall where they went into a corner to dance.

Unknown to them, there was a contest at the hall, and when it was over, they were presented with a prize! Stella was also part of a dance group called the ‘Tempo Tappers’. They frequently put on shows at a dance studio in Titusville.

Stella had a creative gift for arranging flowers and redecorating. She attend classes for each form of art and developed quite a flare for both.

When Stella’s sister-in-law bought new furniture, Stella was there to help. She was a wiz at positioning pictures and knowing what goes where to make the room look impeccable.

She was also an avid book reader and volunteered her time as a librarian at the local senior center. Even after moving to Florida, Stella remained an avid Steelers fan. In her leisure she also loved going to the movies.

In addition to her parents, Stella was proceeded in death by her husband William Powers and a son Jerry Powers. She is survived by her son, Scott Powers, Titusville and her niece Cindy Martin, Monaca.
