OBITUARY: U.S. Army Veteran Janet M. Scoville, 59, of Palm Bay Passes Away Aug. 29

Janet M. Scoville, 59, of Palm Bay, died at home of natural causes on August 29, 2021. Janet was predeceased by her parents, George Scoville and Kathryn (Provancha Scoville) Vaughn, and her sister Cheryl Scoville. She is survived by her brother Tim Scoville of Maryland.

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Janet M. Scoville, 59, of Palm Bay, died at home of natural causes on August 29, 2021. Janet was predeceased by her parents, George Scoville and Kathryn (Provancha Scoville) Vaughn, and her sister Cheryl Scoville. She is survived by her brother Tim Scoville of Maryland.

Janet was born April 22, 1962, in Glens Falls, NY, moved to Merritt Island in 1972, and graduated from Merritt Island High School in 1980.

Janet enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1985, serving proudly in the Signal Corps for 10 years, with deployments to Germany, Italy, and to Iraq during Operation Desert Storm.

She earned numerous decorations, including Joint Service and Army Commendation Medals, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Southwest Asia Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars.

Following separation, Janet moved to Maryland and worked in telecommunications before moving back to Florida in 2012. She was active in the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Burial is planned for a later date at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
