ORLANDO, FLORIDA – The Cocoa Tigers defeated Dr. Phillips High School 19-15 in the final seconds of regulation on Thursday evening.

After a brief kickoff delay due to a lightning alert, both teams battled back and forth in the second half.

With Cocoa trailing by 7 points in the third quarter, the defense stepped up and allowed just 15 points compared to last week’s 55 points given up to Treasure Coast.

Tiger senior running back OJ Ross finished the game with two touchdowns, but the most important score came with just 20 seconds left in regulation play.

Cocoa wide receiver DJ Grimes also found the end zone for the Tigers, pulling in a Davin Wydner pass for a 20-yard touchdown.
