In recent years, there’s been a lot of confusion about the legality and safety of cannabis. But even more so, there’s been a lot of misinformation out there about what is actually in cannabis – especially since CBD has become popular.

That being said, understanding the benefits that CBD offers can clear up some misconceptions and help people make decisions on whether this type of treatment could be beneficial for them.

Understanding the different consumption methods will also help to make choosing a method of consumption easier and avoid confusion since there are many, like bongs that are made of silicone available at stores like Daily High Club, along with vaporizers, edibles such as gummies, CBD coffee from places like BigUpCBD, and more.

Helps With Pain

Marijuana has been used for medicinal purposes for thousands of years, and evidence suggests that it was first used for medicinal purposes around 2,900 BC when it was recorded as having medicinal benefits by Chinese Emperor Fu Hsi.

Only recently has the scientific community been able to research marijuana, and this research shows that CBD is quite helpful at reducing pain.

This is because CBD interacts with cannabinoid receptors within the endocannabinoid system, which is responsible for a few of the body’s functions. CBD then intercepts or blocks the body’s pain signals to the brain, which reduces pain. More than this, it has been shown that CBD is great for treating inflammation due to its anti-inflammatory properties.

Prevents Seizures

As mentioned above, only recently has the scientific and medical community been able to research what cannabis and CBD can do, and why it helps treat a variety of conditions. The one thing that has made this research difficult is the fact that marijuana is still considered a controlled substance under federal law.

Regardless of this, research has proven that CBD is effective at preventing seizures, and as such, medication was created using CBD called Epidiolex for two rare types of epilepsy; Dravet syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.

It is thought that it helps do this because of the way CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system, which results in the restoration of balance and the promotion of homeostasis.

Helps With Anxiety and Depression

Of all the mental health conditions in the world, anxiety, and depression are some of the most prevalent, with anxiety affecting around 25% of the world’s population, at least at some point in their life. When consuming marijuana, which includes CBD and THC, it is particularly effective, however, CBD by itself shows just as promising results.

Research conducted shows that receiving a 300mg dose of CBD helped reduce anxiety amongst the participants. The reason behind these reduced levels of anxiety is because of something called serotonin, which is a neurotransmitter, and those with low levels of serotonin suffer from anxiety or depression.

It is theorized that CBD can increase levels of serotonin, which is why having a higher dose of CBD doesn’t work, as the studies show, since having too much serotonin can also lead to anxiety, and many other side effects.

Helps With Insomnia

If you have anxiety or depression then there is a high probability that you probably also suffer from insomnia, or difficulty sleeping.

This is because the brain is almost “overworking” since it is always thinking. Since CBD is effective at treating anxiety and depression, and if anxiety is the cause of a person’s insomnia, then it naturally follows that it works for insomnia too, and the research shows that it does.

If a person were to consume around 12 to 25 mg of CBD every day, they should start to see results within around 5 months. In addition to this, if lack of sleep is caused by pain, then CBD will improve sleep quality since it reduces pain.

Could Reduce Acne

Finally, research is now showing that CBD could help to reduce acne, which is a very common skin problem that affects around 9% of the world’s population. One of the causes of acne is the overproduction of sebum, and another is underlying inflammation.

CBD has been shown to reduce sebum production, as well as reduce inflammation due to its anti-inflammatory properties, which means that if that is the reason for your acne, then it will help.
