Officer Torello and other officers on her squad got together and purchased food, baby items, and other household essentials to help the single mother.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa Police Officer Amanda Torello responded to a call from a single mother of a 6-month-old requesting help regarding a domestic violence situation involving a former live-in boyfriend.

According to Cocoa police officials, Officer Torello went above and beyond to not only address the safety concerns surrounding this single mom but to help with a little holiday magic.

Officer Torello and other officers on her squad got together and purchased food, baby items, and other household essentials to help the single mother.

“The Cocoa Police Department learned of this through an undisclosed source that witnessed the officers delivering the items to the home and notified us through anonymous means,” said Cocoa police officials on social media.

“Officer Torello also made sure the child was put on the list for the Cocoa Police Department’s toy drive to receive gifts for Christmas.

“Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. Officer Torello and the officers of Delta Squad put the community first and demonstrated excellence in making sure this mom and child had that and so much more.”
