Florida East Coast Real Estate Gearing Up To Give Back With Pet Adoption, Toy Donations

MERRITT ISLAND – The team at Florida East Coast Real Estate has spent the last four years making a difference for local families and shelter pets during the holidays and 2021 is no exception.

The brokerage is currently planning their third annual “A Home For The Holidays” pet adoption fair on December 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at their Merritt Island location at 423 West Merritt Island Causeway (State Road 520).

The event benefits the SPCA of Brevard County and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Dept Animal Services unit helping shelter pets find “forever” homes just in time for the holidays. The event features food trucks, vendors, live music, pet photos with Santa ($10 donation to SPCA) and a toy donation collection for Toys For Tots of Northern Brevard County.

“People can come by and get to know countless dogs and cats available for immediate adoption, bring along their own pet and have their photo taken with Santa and enjoy the holiday festivities. It’s become something we plan all year for and really enjoy putting this event together,” said Jon Scott Santy, Broker Associate.

Florida East Coast Real Estate has also been a major collection site for Toys For Tots donations in Merritt Island for the past four years. “It’s heart-warming to have local people come through our doors to drop new, unwrapped toys donations for our local families,” said Lynnette Hendricks, Owner/Broker.

“We’ve been doing it for several years now and it’s an important part of our holiday tradition. Our agents really enjoy giving back to the community through the Marines Toys For Tots.”

In 2019, Toys For Tots had to make three trips to pick up the toy haul at Florida East Coast Real Estate.
