Florida Tech Panthers Men’s Swimming Defeats Saint Leo and Lynn in Home Opener

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech swimming teams held their 2021-22 home opener Friday afternoon at the Panther Aquatic Center against Lynn and Saint Leo.

The men were victorious against both of their opponent’s thanks to three wins and 12 top-three finishes. Taking home individual victories were John Fonnotto in the 200 flies (1:55.02) and Max Martino in the 50 free (21.68).

The team of Daniel Aizenberg, Sean Foster, Fonnotto, and Max Martino earned a win in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:33.74.

The women recorded three wins and five top-three finishes. Savannah Brennan recorded a victory in her first home event of the season with a 10:28.47 finish in 1000 free while Katherine Helminiak won the 500 free (5:11.20) and Kennedy Nolan earned the 200 fly (2:08.50).

Men’s Results

■ Florida Tech defeated Saint Leo, 131.00-128.00

■ Florida Tech defeated Lynn, 142.00-120.00

■ Saint Leo defeated Lynn, 137.00-125.00

Women’s Results

■ Saint Leo defeated Florida Tech, 152.00-108.00

■ Lynn defeated Florida Tech, 169.00-92.00

■ Lynn defeated Saint Leo, 138.00-123.00

The Panthers will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 11 A.M. against Keiser at the Panther Aquatic Center.
